Person-centred support for people aged 16+ with learning disability; mental health needs; physical and sensory disabilities to achieve sustainable long term paid employment.

Support will be provided by Employment Advisors who will deliver employment planning sessions working with service users to explore interests, skills and aspirations; engage in job profiling and job search; travel training; CV and application form filling; interview preparation and in job support.  As well as working with employers to manage employment/employer issues and providing employer awareness raising sessions to secure and retain employment for people with disabilities.

Employment Advisors are based in Penrith; Carlisle; Kendal; Egremont and Whitehaven providing a countywide-service.

The service is accessible for people who are identified by Adult Social Care Practitioners or Brokers who are eligible to receive part or all of the service based on a Care Act Assessment including people with Complex Health and Social Care Needs.  The service is also available for Young Carers.

The Imagine  Cumbria Employment Service is currently available for people with disabilities over the age of 16 in Carlisle, Barrow and Allerdale who have completed a ‘Fair Access to Care’ Assessment application and who meet the eligibility criteria for receiving direct payment or personal budget.

However if you live outside those areas please contact us as we may still be able to help.

Your case worker might be a social worker, occupational therapist or care coordinator. This is the person who will carry out the initial assessment and who will discuss the different options with you.
