We work with adults (aged 18 and over) living in Cumbria and can assess for a wide range of social care and support services which enable people to be as independent as possible including: home care, day services, meals, residential and nursing homes.

We work with adults (aged 18 and over) and their carers living in Cumbria.  We can assess for and arrange social care and support services to help them to:

  • be as independent as possible;
  • have choice and control over their lives;
  • lead healthier, safer, active and fulfilling lives;
  • have the same opportunities as everyone else; and
  • play a full role in their communities.

There is a wide range of social care and support services available through Adult Social Care. These include support at home (personal care), day services and day opportunities, meals services, care in residential and nursing homes, respite and breaks for carers, extra care housing, Telecare, occupational therapy aids and equipment.

However, using self directed support with personal budgets, people can arrange their own support from an even wider range of services including employing their own personal assistants.

We also investigate safeguarding adults cases where there are concerns that someone is or may be being abused or neglected.
